What We Do

We have served Uganda for the last four years.
John served at the church's operations director and then re-opened Calvary Chapel Bible College Uganda in 2014.

The First Sunday

Sunday was my first time to visit Calvary Chapel Kampala in a long time.  It was good to see some familiar faces and meet some new ones.

There are three Sunday services at the City Centre campus (photo here).  The church also has another Sunday worship service that meets elsewhere.  All combined, there are about 1,000 worshipers on Sunday.  Worship, in typical African style, is strong.

I was able to spend about an hour talk with Josh Carlson, the church's lead pastor.  He has a good vision that should take the church body into greater maturity.

Josh has observed several families move to Uganda, and he is providing some guidance to make our acclimation easier.  He is supportive of us taking the time to learn the local language.  Tuesday Josh will take us to a friend's house that is available for rent.  I am very grateful.

  1. Great news John. I miss the church in Kampala and hope to come and visit again soon. Blessings from your family back at Maranatha.
